CSR priorities assessment

In 2022, we conducted a comprehensive assessment of our priorities, actively soliciting stakeholder input and insights. Our engagement with various stakeholder groups involved the distribution of online surveys among our employees, mining client environmental and social preferences through publicly available data, and integrating investor feedback gathered through our ongoing outreach efforts.

We organized the critical feedback and mapped the relative importance of each topic, factoring in both stakeholder input and their significance to our business. This effort deepened our understanding of the priorities that hold the most relevance for our stakeholders and their impact on our business. This understanding forms the basis for communicating our priorities and engaging with stakeholders on our progress. We continue to review our progress on these initiatives and anticipate periodically adjusting this framework to capture emerging issues and their evolving importance to both our business and our stakeholders.

Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) addendum

Beginning in our 2020 CSR report, we disclosed additional quantitative and qualitative information aligned to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the guidance for the professional and commercial services industry. We aligned to SASB because of its industry-specific and materiality-focused approach. In 2022, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation assumed responsibility for the SASB Standards. We have used the most updated standards identified by ISSB as material for our industry sector in the following table.

GHG emissions calculations methodology

Huron’s GHG emissions calculations were completed by AccountAbility, a global consulting and standards firm that works with organizations on CSR matters. The structure of Huron’s emissions calculations was based on the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol’s Corporate Standard Revised Edition. The 2025 inventory reflects a more comprehensive dataset than in prior years, including the incorporation of renewable energy data for U.S. and India operations and the first‑time inclusion of business travel emissions from India offices under Scope 3, Category 6. Given the expanded scope and improved data quality, we updated our emissions baseline by establishing 2023 as the new baseline year and recalculated 2023 and 2024 emissions to incorporate newly available data, refined activity data, updated emission factors, and methodological improvements.

Scope 1: Emissions that occur from sources that
are controlled or owned
by Huron

Activity data:

Stationary combustion: Stationary combustion refers to the combustion of fuels that are purchased by Huron and/or consumed at Huron’s office locations, including for activities such as office heating or on-site electricity generation or in equipment such as generators, boilers, furnaces and other types of stationary fuel combustion technologies owned, leased, or controlled by Huron.
Stationary combustion activity data has been estimated for all offices based on Huron’s total office location square footage (excluding subleased buildings, co-working spaces, floors, and portions of floors) and U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) average energy consumption data for regional for U.S. offices. In the absence of international averages, the same U.S. average was also used for Huron’s overseas offices. For office locations with partial-year leases, the appropriate factor was used to gather accurate stationary combustion activity for that period.
Huron did not report any mobile combustion emissions, since the company does not own any company-owned vehicles.
Due to the nature of Huron’s office lease agreements, as per The GHG Protocol (Revised Edition), refrigerants (fugitive emissions from office air conditioning maintenance) do not fall under the category of “owned or controlled” activities for Huron.

Emissions factors:

Emissions factors for stationary combustion for U.S.-based offices were applied using the emission factors for greenhouse gas inventories provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (last modified June 2024) and the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) average energy consumption data (last modified 2018). Emissions factors for stationary combustion for

international offices were applied using the emissions factors from DEFRA (2023-2025).

Scope 2: Indirect emissions that are associated with purchased electricity consumed by Huron

Activity data:

Purchased electricity: Purchased electricity refers to electricity supplied to Huron’s office locations by local utility providers or other off-site sources.
Multiple office locations collected data on actual electricity consumption in 2025. Some usage needed to be annualized for an estimated annual consumption. Due to the limited availability of a number of domestic and overseas offices purchased electricity data, purchased electricity activity has been estimated based on an extrapolation of the actual electricity consumption of Huron’s Chicago office (the company’s headquarters) being proportionally applied by square footage for Huron’s total office footprint (excluding subleased buildings, floors, co-working spaces, and portions of floors except where Huron continues to pay the electricity bill) for locations without actual energy usage.
In 2025, Huron included renewable energy data across the U.S. and India for Scope 2. Therefore, both location-based and market-based Scope 2 emissions were calculated to represent the new data available (2025).

Emissions factors:

For location-based Scope 2 emissions, local grid emissions factors were used for all energy usage based on EPA-provided data for U.S. offices and international emissions factors from DEFRA and carbonfootprint.com, depending on where the most accurate data could be derived (2023-2025).
For market-based Scope 2 emissions, energy data representing the amount of renewable energy purchased for a specific location was subtracted from the location-based total to account for renewable energy credits that offset the energy used. This is because renewable energy data has an emissions factor of 0 (2025).
U.S. domestic: Emission factors for greenhouse gas inventories provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Overseas: Country-specific electricity grid greenhouse gas emission factors provided by www.carbonfootprint.com and DEFRA

Scope 3: Emissions that are the result of activities from assets not owned or controlled by Huron, but that our organization indirectly impacts in our
value chain

Activity data:

Air business travel: Air business travel refers to the use of aircraft not owned or leased by Huron (i.e., commercial airplanes) for Huron business travel.

Emissions factors:

DEFRA emissions factors without radiative forcing were used to maintain inclusivity of all international data and consistency across years (2023-2025).
Seat type for all passenger data was not available, so the average passenger emissions factor was used.

Non-air business travel: Non-air business travel refers to the use of vehicles not owned or leased by Huron (e.g., rental cars, train travel, bus travel, ferry travel) for Huron business travel.

Non-air business car travel activity data has been estimated based on rental car and gas expense data, Huron’s assumption about certain expenses for gasoline charges, and the EIA monthly retail gasoline price data.

Emissions factors:

For U.S. business car and train travel, emissions factors were provided by the U.S. EPA.
For international business car travel, emissions factors were provided by DEFRA.
For all car travel, average mile per gallon data was provided by the U.S. EPA.

When exact trip distances were not provided, distances between airports were found using longitude and latitude for departure and destination locations
with data provided by ourairports.com. Distances for U.S. train travel were
found using mile markers for departure and destination locations provided
by Amtrak.

Due to the limited availability of complete actual Scope 3 business travel activity data, the complete actual business travel activity data available (representing 70% of total business travel activity in 2023, 70% of total business travel activity in 2024, and 62% of total business travel activity in 2025) has been extrapolated and applied to the remaining total of business travel activity.

All emissions factors used were the most updated numbers available from each source listed respective to the year of calculation.
