Our strategy for environmental sustainability focuses on strategic impact areas aligned with potential business risks and opportunities. As a professional services company, we do not engage in manufacturing, product distribution, or hazardous waste generation. Instead, our operational carbon footprint primarily consists of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated through workplace electricity use and business travel for client engagements.

While we acknowledge the emissions associated with office operations and travel, we have demonstrated that it is possible to achieve business growth and deliver exceptional client outcomes while reducing travel requirements and thoughtfully managing our corporate office spaces. In addition to managing our carbon footprint, we recognize the importance of water stewardship. Due to the nature of our business, our offices have low water consumption, but we remain observant of any need for water recycling initiatives should that change.

We are committed to protecting our planet and believe it is our duty to use natural resources responsibly and proactively to address environmental challenges. As a company with expanding global operations, we remain focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and collectively working to combat climate change as we continue to grow.

Governance

As discussed in more detail in the corporate social responsibility section, our governance structure supports oversight of our sustainability and environmental priorities. The Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee oversees our corporate social responsibility objectives and initiatives, while our Enterprise Risk Management Committee identifies and manages sustainability-related risks, including climate. Together with our leadership team and the CSR working group, these committees collaborate to anticipate, identify, and address environmental risks and opportunities, in alignment with our enterprise strategy and long-term goals.

To advance our commitment to environmental sustainability, we are focused on the following priorities:

Enhancing measurement and disclosure of GHG emissions to improve transparency and accountability
Reducing GHG emissions through operational efficiencies and responsible travel practices
Expanding the use of renewable energy in our offices to decrease reliance on nonrenewable sources
Updating our initial climate risk assessment to identify emerging risks and opportunities and integrate them into our enterprise risk management framework

In 2025, we began preparing to publish our first Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) report. This report will provide a TCFD-aligned assessment of climate-related risks and opportunities. This process expanded our understanding of the environmental impacts and dependencies of our business, further informing our sustainability-related practices and initiatives. By integrating TCFD recommendations into our governance and risk management approach, we are better positioned to anticipate and address climate-related challenges while supporting long-term resilience and growth. Key aspects of our sustainability approach

Resource conservation and renewable energy: As part of our dedication to resource conservation, we are actively increasing the use of renewable energy across our offices and have begun tracking these efforts to measure progress. Our corporate headquarters in Chicago and our offices in Bangalore and Chennai, India, have started to adopt renewable energy sources. Although we have not yet fully transitioned across our global footprint, these initiatives reduce reliance on nonrenewable resources and support our broader sustainability strategy.

In addition, we seek procurement opportunities and implement operational conservation measures to minimize natural resource consumption. We also operate in multiple buildings certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), which are designed to optimize energy efficiency and reduce resource use.

As of December 31, 2025, approximately 50% of our leased office properties in the U.S. are LEED-certified, and we continue to evaluate opportunities when expanding globally. These efforts, combined with renewable energy adoption, help align our operations with environmental best practices and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Reuse and recycling: Our commitment to sustainability includes reusing and recycling when feasible. We responsibly manage waste streams, including
e-waste and water, as relevant to our business.

Our dedicated and highly engaged workforce plays a vital role in our sustainability strategy. To align with Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG 13) and our commitment to climate action, we prioritize educating and raising awareness among our employees about climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning.

In July 2025, our sixth annual sustainability challenge took place, reinforcing our ongoing dedication to promoting sustainable practices, cultivating
eco-friendly habits, and enhancing environmental awareness among our workforce. The Huron Chooses Green Challenge featured three primary missions:

Take action in your community: Highlighting the importance of driving change in local communities
Take action with the Sustainability network and Working Families iMatter team: Centered on collaborative engagement through live events hosted by Huron’s Sustainability network, complemented by initiatives with the Working Families team that promoted sustainable living and education within the family unit

Employees enthusiastically participated in this two-week event, collectively completing nearly 800 sustainability-focused activities. These activities ranged from adopting sustainable lifestyle changes to consuming educational content. As a direct outcome of these collective efforts, our employees were responsible for diverting over 102,200 pounds of waste from landfills and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 258 pounds.

In 2025, Huron collaborated with the SankalpTaru Foundation, a technology-enabled environmental nongovernmental organization (NGO) dedicated to restoring our planet’s green cover and uplifting communities across India. On World Environment Day, Huron planted more than 7,900 trees across designated project locations in India on behalf of all global employees, contributing to a healthier planet and long-term ecological restoration.

Risk management

Climate-related risks and opportunities

Our approach to addressing climate-related risks and opportunities is comprehensive, considering physical, regulatory, and operational factors.
The ERM committee evaluates our exposure to these risks in alignment with strategic objectives.

Operational resilience and employee safety

As a professional services company, our day-to-day operations are generally less directly affected by climate change compared with other industries. However, we remain mindful of potential business disruptions caused by extreme weather events, such as flooding, wildfires, or power supply disruptions. Continuing to adopt a hybrid work environment helps mitigate such disruptions, enabling employees to serve clients effectively with reduced travel through remote work.

Employee safety risks posed by climate events are mitigated through our partnership with International SOS, which enables us to monitor business travel and support the well-being of employees during crises, including

Helping our clients achieve their sustainability ambitions

Huron provides services that help clients manage sustainability end to end, from understanding their current state and priorities to designing, implementing, and operationalizing solutions that support credible reporting, performance improvement, and long-term value creation.

Functional and advisory sustainability solutions
We have worked with clients to establish a strong sustainability foundation and plan actionable steps to achieve sustainability goals aligned to requirements, stakeholder expectations, and business strategy. We help our clients conduct current-state and ESG maturity assessments, regulatory and standards readiness evaluations, materiality and stakeholder engagement assessments, ESG strategy and target setting, metrics and data gap analyses, and the design of ESG governance, operating models, and implementation road maps.

Technology-enabled sustainability solutions
We provide our clients with technology solutions that enable efficient, scalable, and audit-ready sustainability data management and reporting. Our technology offerings include:

Enterprise sustainability software solutions: Enterprise resource planning (ERP) and enterprise performance management (EPM) capabilities for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data management, metric tracking, and reporting, while integrating sustainability data with broader enterprise systems to create a connected, organizationwide ESG view
Intelligent automation and analytics solutions: AI-enabled review of ESG data (e.g., energy, water, and emissions data); automation to improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and accelerate reporting cycles; and advanced analytics and dashboards that support decision making and sustainability performance monitoring

Metrics

As a global professional services organization, our operational carbon footprint primarily consists of our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our corporate leased office spaces and employee travel. As our organization grows, we work to reduce our impact and emissions where feasible.

In 2025, we continued tracking GHG emissions data, working with AccountAbility, a third-party global consultancy firm. We made several changes and enhancements to our GHG emissions inventory to improve data completeness, cross-year methodological alignment and overall transparency to best represent global leading practices. These updates support continuous improvement and maintain consistency with the GHG Protocol’s guidelines.

Despite growth in both headcount and office footprint, we have achieved a steady reduction in overall emissions. This decrease is primarily driven by lower fuel consumption within Scope 1, expanded use of renewable energy in Scope 2, and reduced business travel in Scope 3. Our 2025 GHG emissions inventory reflects a more comprehensive dataset than in prior years, including the incorporation of renewable energy data from corporate headquarters in Chicago and our offices in Bangalore and Chennai, India, which improves the accuracy and transparency of energy‑related emissions reporting.

In addition, business travel emissions from India offices were
included for the first time and are reported under Scope 3, Category 6 (Business Travel), in alignment with the GHG Protocol. This expanded dataset provides a more complete view of emissions associated with our global operations.

Given the expanded scope and improved data quality reflected in the 2025 inventory, we completed a baseline update and recalculation of historical emissions to maintain consistency across reporting periods.
A new baseline year of 2023 was established, replacing the prior 2019 baseline, which did not include Scope 3 emissions from the India offices and therefore no longer fully represents Huron’s current organizational structure or data availability.

The 2023 and 2024 GHG inventories were recalculated to incorporate newly included business travel emissions from India offices, updated emission factors, refined activity data, and methodological improvements, including the use of emission factors from the U.K. Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). Previously, emissions factors from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and country-specific factors from carbonfootprint.com were applied. These updates align historical emissions with the boundaries and methodologies applied in 2025, ensuring year-over-year trends remain meaningful and comparable as we continue to expand globally.
